About

Picture it, Mecosta, 2024, Steve Norton and Felicia Flores hanging out and enjoying the day. They are discussing things that could be done in town that would be unique and bring people to the village. The idea of a live art show comes up. They want Artists of all kinds to set up on Main Street and create while people watch them. The planning starts.

Fast forward to the present. An idea has turned into reality. On September 5, 2026, Main Street in Mecosta will be shut down. At 7:00a.m., the barricades will be put across the street, and at 7:30a.m. the artists and makers will arrive and start setting up. By 10:00a.m., the street will be bustling with activity. Spectators and shoppers will arrive. Artists will be creating, crafters will be selling their crafts, music will be filling the air, and judges will start evaluating the works in progress. At 11:00a.m., the musicians will start entertaining. From noon – 2:00p.m., there will be arts and crafts for kids. By 4:00p.m., the artists will have put the finishing touches on their projects, and the judges will make their decisions. The people’s choice ballots will be counted, and then at 4:30p.m., the moment we have all been waiting for, the awarding of the prizes. Vendors and musicians will continue on until 5:00p.m. By 6:00p.m., the barricades will come down, and the street will reopen. This will be a day to remember. We invite you to join us!!!!
